Earn a Degee or Certificate in Theatre Technology
The ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Theatre Technology Program offers an AA degree and a variety of credit and non-credit certificates to prepare you for entry-level positions in professional and community theatre.
Our classes teach you strong fundamentals of costumes, makeup, scenery, lighting, theatre management, and design for the theatre.
All ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Theatre Technology classes can be take for credit if you are pursuing a degree or career certificate, or non-credit if you are interested in learning new job skills or just having fun.

Hands-On Experience
Through our classes, you'll gain significant hands-on experience working on department productions, including our annual musical.
Depending on your area of interest, your work on department productions might include:

Stage crew

Wardrobe crew

Operating lighting, sound, or projections
After gaining experience in entry-level positions, students can advance to leadership roles such as:

Advanced students can take on creative positions including:

Projections designer
Our program also introduces students to local theatre companies, with opportunities to work on their productions.
After completing the program, students are prepared to transfer to a four-year college or pursue entry-level positions with professional and community theatres. Our students and alumni work with theatre companies throughout the Bay Area and beyond.

Note: Certificates of Proficiency and Career Certificates are non-transcriptable and consist of 13-35 units. These certificates are designed as a career advancement tool. Courses focus on practical knowledge and skill development.
