Students will learn to interpret intraoral and panoramic radiographs. Emphasis is on identifying normal, atypical, and pathological structures. Additionally, students will analyze of the progression of dental caries, periodontal disease, and periapical lesions to enhance their diagnostic radiographic interpretation skills. The course explores the anatomy and physiology of the periodontium, emphasizing the connection between foundational sciences and the clinical understanding of periodontal diseases. Students will gain knowledge of the most current classification system established by the American Academy of Periodontology, as well as the etiology and pathogenesis of periodontal diseases.
