CalWORKs Support

Are You a Parent with Limited Income?

CalWORKs works to build strong families by helping parents reach their career potential. If you are a student parent with limited income, we’re here to support you as you pursue your education and career goals at ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ.

You are eligible to receive CalWORKs services if you currently receive TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) and plan to attend or already attend ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ.

Services Provided

CalWORKs offers a range of services to help you stay on track and succeed:

  • Academic, career, and personal counseling.

  • Case management and tracking of student progress.

  • Book vouchers, transportation assistance, and educational supplies.

  • Work-study opportunities.

  • Counselors and staff familiar with WTW (Welfare-to-Work) requirements and regulations.

  • Job development and placement support.

  • Friday hours by week:
    • Sept. 14–18: 8 a.m.–3 p.m. (in person & virtual)
    • Sept. 21–25: 8 a.m.–5 p.m. (in person & virtual)
    • Sept. 28–Oct. 2: 8 a.m.–3 p.m. (in person & virtual)
    • Oct. 5–Dec. 25: 8 a.m.–3 p.m. (virtual only)

CalWORKs and the Occupational Training Institute (OTI)

CalWORKs at ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ is part of the

OTI supports CalWORKs and WIOA-eligible students enrolled in Career Technical Education programs at both ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ and De Anza Colleges. We also partner with select employers to provide interns and connect them with qualified employees.

The provides support if you’ve been laid off and are economically disadvantaged. Referrals from local Workforce Boards (WIOA), including NOVA and Work2Future, are welcome.
